Day 789 B
Okay guys, so I’m one of those people. I started using machines. It’s a long story but I started doing lying hamstring curls. After reading and watching all this information about the hamstrings and how deads, squats and other hip-hinge movements only hit the hamstrings from one of their insertion points or whatever it’s called and how I am missing out on the knee flexion movement of the hamstrings and how I see all these people using machines and still making progress, I thought it would be okay to add it into my routine. I will still do everything else I normally do with hams like squats,deads, lunges and glute bridges but now I will do lying leg curls. Normally I would get DOMS in my hams but my hams are just being used in hip extension not knee flexion. Also I would get doms relatively harder in my hams but everywhere else in my body, my body has adapted so my doms is never that crazy anymore, even my low back on deadlift day isn’t that bad. I will do this for a bit and see how I feel.
I did like 4 x 12 on the machine starting at 60 lbs and then I finished with a long ass drop set that must have been like 30 reps lol. I feel good. Obviously with machines there is no point in doing low reps on it. I will use it for high reps.
